The “Controllo ” meetings are initially held monthly and then can be deferred over
time. judgment regarding the lost body weight. The purpose of the check-up visit is to talk together about the critical issues encountered during the past month and to find better
solutions. A tool that I often use during check-ups is the Food Diary, a precious help to discuss with the patient
about the progress and any problems he has encountered in following the nutritional indications. A predominant part of these meetings is food education , a little bit at a time I try to transmit the basic
knowledge to eat in a healthy and balanced way. There is no shortage of exchanges of recipes and ideas to make the weekly menu tasty and avoid falling
into the monotony that often leads diets to failure. Of course, anthropometric and body composition assessments are also performed, but they are certainly not the first
thing to do in a checkup. The first questions I always ask the patient are “How are you? ”, “How did you go this month? ”, because the well-being of the person comes first.
